PROCEDURE

  • Measure empty 100cc measuring cup, zero scale.
  • Pour bleaching earth sample of 200 grams approximately into 500cc bottle, shake until the sample mixed with air.
  • Pour the be into measuring cup through funnel, when the measuring cup is full, press the stopwatch, set the time for 1 minute, add if decreases. When the time is up, swipe the surface and weigh.

  • Set moisture analyzer temperature into 120 ºC, stop mode = auto stop.
  • Open cover and zero along with the containment.

PROCEDURE

  • Weigh 200 gr OF CPO/ 70 gr in Erlenmeyer, weigh the be pursuant to dosage.
  • Turn on stirrer and set heater temp to 90-110 ºC, turn on vacuum pump (60 TOR)
  • When the temp is 90 ºC, insert, INSERT H3PO4 C=85% 0,1CC (0.05%) set the time for 5 minutes, then insert bleaching earth, set the time for 30 minutes (Temp = 90-110 ºC)

Then do the filtering to see the color of RBPO.

PROCEDURE

  • Use 70 gr of CPO, and bleaching earth dosage OF 3% (Cake’s thickness is about 3mm, diameter is 42mm).
  • Prepare the filtration tools and turn on the vacuum pump (740-750 mmHg).
  • Pour CPO from bleaching process into funnel, shake before pouring so that there is no be sendiment.
  • After the cake is formed, (Erlenmeyer volume = 40 cc), press the stopwatch and record the filtration time.
  • The filtration time is the time required for 20 cc of CPO to pass the filtration media (BE thickness = 3 mm, diameter = 42 mm) at 90-110 ºC.

PROCEDURE

  • CPO from bleaching process enters the distillation flask.
  • Turn on the vacuum pump and check to make sure there is no leakage, the maximum pressure is 2 TOR.
  • Open the nitrogen tap gradually and make sure the pressure is no more than 2 TOR (nitrogen serves to eliminate oxygen so there is no oxidation / scorch and as media to stir the CPO).
  • Set control heater mantel deodorizing temperature to 260ºC and set the deodorizing time for 1 hour, then turn it on.
  • When the desired temperature reached, the timer will calculate automatically and after the countdown finished, heater mantel will be turned off automatically.
  • After the heater mantel is off, wait the temperature to decreaseinto below 50ºC then shut down the vacuum pump and close the nitrogent tap.
  • Get the oil out of the flask and analyze the colour of RBDPO.
